We have found that large project files sometimes arrive corrupted when requested via Apple Events. If you only need some elements of the project, the solution to both problems is to use the new event introduced in FCP7: Get Table of Contents (kFCPGetProjectTOC 'eTCX')

Another solution from the chronicles of customer support.
One of my apps was failing for a customer to retrieve XML from FCP7 using an Apple Event request. The customer's project file was huge, and the XML representation of it was 94MB. The event had a timeout set to kAEDefaultTimeout, but I guess it was timing out before FCP7 could process the big project and respond.
The solution was to change the timeout to kNoTimeOut. _______________________________________________
