Hi Andreas,
Its been a while!
4 minutes 9 seconds on a 12-core Mac Pro with 8 Gigs of RAM. (Olde fashioned Spindles for drives.)
That is *only* how long it took to get a timeline.
Afterwards, it took another 2 minutes to do anything interactively with the timeline. Once the beach ball disappeared, there was a 10 second lag before the timeline really became instantly interactive. If I click outside of FCPX and clicked back inside the application, I was subjected to the same 10-second penalty.
