is for the benefit of developers not FCP users. There are plenty of forums and resources for FCP users
The problems I'm reporting are not user mistakes (except for my silly skimming problem few days ago, I apologize), they're problems with the application.
User forums are useless, they can only confirm that they are problems and supply workaround solutions, but those I can come up with myself. That's a dead end.
and of course the bug reporting page
I wasn't aware of this page.
I promise to report bugs there if you promise me that they get heard.
I have good experience in directly interacting with developers and bad experience with bug reporting pages. Those bug reports land in the trash if the developers don't feel like addressing them. It's not a bug tracking system where I can monitor and interact.
Of course as a user I'm aware that I shouldn't be here, but it's not like I'm spamming you with irrelevant information.
I can well distinguish between pressing problems (for instance the overlay problem I just reported) and very unimportant ones (the font changing crash). But the bug reporting page won't let me chose a priority. You developers, and understandably so, deny bug reporters the option to chose a priority because you think they would tick "high" all the time. But that's not the case.
And by the way, I do develop professional software myself, in my own name and as an aiding developer of other people's software. I program mostly in Python, but I can jump into any language should the need arise.
So we're good peers, only this time I chose to pay for a professional software that I expected to Just Work and work on different projects myself.

Just seeing the results of a night's worth of rendering.
I first saw this many months ago, when I wasn't aware of this mailing list, and today, several updates later, I can't believe it's still there.
There's a one pixel thick anti-alias-kind-of-thing line shining through at the top and the bottom (not sure about left and right) of the picture from the the lower of two stacked clips. This is especially obvious when the top clip is very dark near the edges and the bottom clip is rather light. And it's especially annoying to watch when the bottom clip is also moving, which is more or less often the case with film.
The black ares at the top and the bottom of the screenshot are outside of the film, watching 1080p on a 1920x1200 screen.
