Thank you.
Please allow me as a user to express that these past months were a hard time waiting when I was constantly and seriously considering to ask for my money back for FCPX and switch back to Premiere because this bug persisted across two or so updates and my work heavily relies on functioning 3rd party plugins (that I also purchased). That such mistakes happen is not a problem, but what I expect at least from applications that carry "Pro" in their name is that such bugs get addressed in a timely manner.
Anyway.
I have another problem that is slightly annoying: I remember vaguely from earlier versions of FCPX that the skimming option affected not only the events but also clips on the timeline. Now (at least 10.0.7 and 10.0.8) skimming is always on for the timeline regardless of the option setting. As a side note this means bad UI design because the option button is located just above the timeline but only affects a different section of the UI, the events. But as a bigger problem this means that persistent skimming on the timeline slows down the work on my aged computer because mouse hovering over the timeline is constantly triggering clip loads on the preview screen. But more importantly this is visually annoying and breaking my concentration. Even if you think that you can manage clip load speeds for the skimming on the technical side, as a user I wish I could keep decision over whether or not to use skimming. I like to position my "cursor" and only see the visuals for the section I chose. Not even sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it feels like a bug so I thought I report it.
Thanks for your work. In general FCPX is a great application. Jan
