Lyndon,
We’re in the process of updating the templates and examples we ship with the SDK. Unfortunately, this registration script that we originally wrote is no longer suitable for its intended purpose. You’re better off simply running the app that gets built and leaving it running while you run Motion or Final Cut to debug your plug-in.
For installations, using the standard Apple installer should perform the right magic to make it work for users. Alternately, they can simply double-click the app container to launch it once. Once it’s been launched the first time, LaunchServices will recognize it and PlugInKit will register it properly from then on. (They can literally just launch it and quit it once.)
