Good Day to you All!
I am seeking some assistance trying to image a Boot Camp
partition on our new Macs.
I have been working with this for several weeks now, without
any success and would like to find out what I am doing wrong.
I have been able to successfully use the Boot Camp Assistant
to create the 32GB FAT partition, then install Windows XP Pro to that partition
formatting the partition into NTFS.
I am able to successfully sysprep the image to allow for
deployment on other machines, and have set it up to install the hardware for
the multiple machine types that we have. I get the machine to seal just
fine, and I have collected an image of the partition using both DeployStudio,
and WinClone.
However, I am unable to restore the image. Using either
Winclone or DeployStudio.
I have tried restoring the image to multiple machines, and
even back to a clean build of the Mac mini that I built it on, with no success.
Every time it completes the restoration, I boot to the
partition and am greeted with “Error Loading Operating System” and
nothing more.
I have tried deploying the image to partitions exactly the
same size and larger than the partition I used to create the image, without any
success.
I have also tried using Windows Recovery and Reinstall to
fix the problem without any success either.
My “last straw” was when I used DeployStudio to
partition the drive, then tried to manually install Windows XP to that
partition. It failed after copying all of the installer files to the
drive with the same error message.
Any help any of you can provide would be extremely
appreciated. I have to have these machines deployed before the start of
the Fall semester with dual boot capability, and the way that I going right
now, it is going to take me until next year to get it.
Thanks in advance to you all! And I hope that you all
have a great day!
