Hello all,
First of all, I wanted to thank you all for joining rockies-edu. It's
my sincere hope that this will be a valuable resource for all of you
going forward. And to Roger, thanks for posting the first customer
question!
I wanted you to all be aware of a recent fix that has slipped past
many customers. Over the recent months, we've had new AFP performance
issues introduced with 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 Leopard Server updates. What
you may not realize is that the fix for these AFP performance issues
has been addressed. If you run software update on a Leopard Server,
you'll see the Security Update 2009-001 package install. Highlight
that in the list and look at the notes on what that update addresses.
You'll see that AFP is on the list.

The remaining details are outlined in this KBase article:

Testimonials are welcome. If you still have AFP performance issues,
it's perfectly fine to share that with this list, but I would also ask
that you call into AppleCare, get a case number, and allow your Apple
SE to assist you with escalation.
Thanks,
Corey
