Rockies-edu,
I often get asked for suggestions of books to read to learn more about the Mac OS X Command Line. A new book entered the scene today. It is titled "Take Control of the Mac Command Line with Terminal" and is part of the excellent series of eBooks in the "Take Control" series. It gives a nice overview of the Mac OS X command line, a primer on the Terminal application, and some great examples of how users typically use the command line to fine tune, troubleshoot, and manage their Mac. At $10, it is a bargain. You can get more info on it (including a sample chapter) by going here: http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/command-line?pt=TB971
