What worries me is that most Mac users are pretty lax about anti-virus…basically
we got lucky, hackers generally want to take down as many machines as possible
so we were generally not a target for most viruses…with Mac’s popularity on the
rise, it hackers see it as a feather in their cap to take down Macs.
Best thing you can do to prevent hackers…get them married, then
real life interferes with their available hacking hours.

I should qualify that I also didn't intend to imply that Mac
OS X is 100% immune :-)

With the built in Trojan in the pirated versions of Photoshop
CS4 and iLife 09, there is a good chance students could not only infect their
machine, but also yours…

Ken makes a great point here.
Whether your personal philosophy has you installing AV software on Macs or not,
please know that they are just as good at carrying a virus as a Windows-based
computer. That doesn't mean they get infected (or you'd know it), but they do
pass these along and sometimes hold onto them for a long time on the system.
Good stats, Ken. Thanks for sharing.

And yes Apples don't get viruses but they sure spread them.
Here is a current report of the 292 Viruses at our system for the
month of May.
The PC viruses are the ones that make me nervous as to where will
they get spread too.
Will you be at the meeting on Friday if so I will see you there.
