We were having a similar issue last week where our OD Master freeze up and all authentication into the machine stops working. The actual server was working probably, but all our account in WGM were grayed out or gone. It seemed like the server was loosing connection with the main DNS server. To fix it, we made the OD Master a secondary zone of the master DNS and changed is DNS Network setting to itself. So far so good.
