Thanks. I’ll hold onto this information. We’ll be upgrading in a couple weeks. Chery

Hey Cheryl,

Just a simple import into WGM on 10.6 Server. I haven't dug too deep, but all options that I try in regards to bringing in a comma-delimited file doesn't work. No errors, just an import progress bar with no users actually making it into Open Directory.

Take a text file with the following text:

User 01,user01,password
User 02,user02,password

Leave an open line at the end, and be sure that the text editor saves the doc with Unix line endings instead of Macintosh line endings. When bringing it into WGM, line up the delimiters for new entry, attribute delimiter (which should be a comma), etc. This worked consistently in 10.5 and, I haven't even used it in 10.6 until recently (with no success). I'll keep digging, but pinging the group in case somebody has been doing it and knows the delimiter formula.

Page 279 goes into detail, so I'll try to add the other fields and see if that works. It wasn't required before, so I hadn't been putting more than Real Name, Short Name and Password fields in.

Hi, Daniel.
I think that I was successful, but I can’t tell you for positive since it was so long ago. What are you up to?

Hi Corey,

Just wondering if you had success on using the user import feature with a
.csv file in day 2 of the ATSE.
