Page 3 states "whether on a Mac mini computer or an Xserve server in the data center, and it can record audio and video from a wide range
of devices, including USB microphones, built-in iSight cameras and microphones, and digital video cameras connected via FireWire."
We have found that PCP capture only supports Standard Definition DV 25 streams (NTSC & PAL).
Some HD cameras did/do support down converting the live HD image to a live SD DV25 stream.
If the USB camera works with iChat which requires a "USB video class (UVC) camera" it should work with PCP capture. http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/
