Here is our current setup:
1) 10.5.8 Server sharing files via afp and smb.
2) 3 Windows XP SP3 Clients and 1 Mac client 10.5.8 and 1 mac client
10.6.4 accessing files from 10.5.8 server
3) Mac clients use LDAP to log into their mobile phd account.
We have narrowed the problem to:
A windows client saves to a file (Microsoft Excel) on the server. When a
mobile account (with portable home directory) on a mac opens that file
(either afp or smb) it is in a read-only state.
If the user signs into the mac client as a standard user (non mobile
account) then they can access the file with read-write permissions.
All windows machines can read and write to any file on the server just
fine.
We would really like the user to read and write to the server when they
are using their mobile account (with portable home folders). Does anyone
know a fix for this?
