Thanks for these suggestions!
Stuffit doesn't give you the ability to view and select files from the
zip archive.
MacZip, looks like you need classic environment to run, unless I went to
the wrong download site.
When you have a zip archive that contains 100's of thousands of files,
it's not something you just want to unzip. That's why I need tool to be
able to view the contents of the zip archive and select the files to
extract. It would take hours for unzip to extract everything from these
archives.

Stuffit Expander is still free.
MacZip is also free (haven't used this one in years, though).
Of course, OS X automatically unzips files by double-clicking.

Hello,
Just signed up on this list for first time. I wanted to see if anyone has suggestions for a good graphical unzip utility that allows you to select what files you want to extract from a zip archive for Macs (Tiger and above)?
I do know that you can selectively extract files from a zip archive using the command line unzip, but I really do not want to try and teach that to an end user. I have found BetterZip that is good, but costs money. If anyone knows of a free tool or at least cheaper than BetterZip I would very much like to know.
Thanks...
