| You may have heard that a certificate authority (CA) was recently compromised; DigiNotar. The reason that that matters to us, as computer users/admins is due to the fact that fraudulent certificates were issued from DigiNotar and therefore could be automatically trusted by Mac OS X.
This security update addresses that by removing DigiNotar from the trusted root CA list. Here's the KBase describing the update. The update is available for download, as well as in Software Update.
