Hello Rockies list,
This is your friendly reminder that the wireless seminars are coming up next week! We've got a really solid agenda that will help you learn a lot about wireless networks. A couple key points of correspondence I've recently received;
1. I don't deal with the wireless at my school, just servers. Why should I come?
2. My network guys deal with that and I only deal with iPads, so I'll forward the invite to them.
3. We've had a great wireless network setup for years, so I don't need to come. It is slow, though!
The truth is that we *all* deal with wireless every single day. We certainly deal with it at work and we probably deal with it at home in regards to the fact that we use it all of the time. I have a few key goals with this seminar. I want you to be knowledgable
about wireless so that future plans, directions and purchases are the best that you can make. I want you to be able to troubleshoot your own wireless networks (both at work and at home). I want you to know about trends in education in regards to wireless.
In addition, we will discuss what all of that information means when you option-click on your wifi menu item in the menu bar. You'll know the key differences between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz? What does channel overlap mean and is it the cause of slow performance
in my building? What is a spatial stream? How can one computer get 270 Mbps throughput, when the person sitting next to you is only getting 26 Mbps?
This seminar has been delivered many times, and it has received incredibly strong feedback in regards to how relevant and understandable it is. We hope you'll join us! Please email me with any questions.
