So I just got confirmation from Apple that there are 2 major issues with Apple Configurator 1.3.1 as it applies to iOS 7:
- You can NOT upgrade devices to iOS 7 in Configurator 1.3.1, as it will crash Configurator.
- You can not NOT upgrade to iOS 7 in Configurator 1.3.1 as there is no way to choose to supervise and not select upgrade iOS.
I know that 1.4.1 is supposed to address the first issue, but is there any confirmation that the second issue will also be addressed? All iPads deployed in our schools are on iOS 6 and we do NOT want to set up new iPads on iOS 7 for the sake of consistency
and stability. I do not see any way to set up a new supervised device without Configurator attempting to update the iOS. Anyone have a brilliant workaround for this?
Thank you.
