Hi Joel,
I have spent the last couple years looking at a MDM solutions. This fall
we contracted with MaaS360 from Fiberlink, which is owned by IBM. We
decided to try them as they support Apple, Android, and Windows mobile
devices. Their prices were competitive and it was announced this fall the
they were collaborating with Apple on enterprise support. So that was a
positive.
As one other person that responded to my inquiry into what MDM¹s were
being used out there, they all seem to have their strong and weak points
and ³you need to pick your poison².
That being said I have been working with MaaS360 for a couple months and I
have found tech support to be excellent and the MDM has some nice features.
You can sync up with your active directory with a "cloud extender² and it
works with Apple¹s device enrollment program, although I have just set
this up.
As for App deployment at the present they only allow one token for VPP,
but are working on being able to add more tokens. So at the present I can
link to the VPP .xls file and distribute Apps.
Once a device has set up the MaaS360 certificate it adds a MaaS App
catalog where the apps have been pushed out and they can then install the
app. You can also send documents and messages to managed mobile devices.
The interface is as good as most I¹ve seen but takes a bit of time to get
the initial set up going, then it should be much easier to deal with.
So that is my experience so far for what it is worth. I have a MaaS360
sales contact who is very helpful if your interested.
