Corey:
I just spoke with Enterprise Support about consolidating our VPP/DEP accounts. I mentioned the 7/14 date in your post, and the tech said he thought that just represented the day that ASM invitations would start being sent to existing VPP/DEP enrollees, but indicated he thought it would be a "gradual" thing, meaning not everyone would get invitations right away. In other words, we still don't know when this will REALLY be "available".
Just thought I'd pass that along. Would love to hear he was wrong, and we'll all be able to start using it immediately after 7/14 !

Jonathan and all,
I was going to respond yesterday, but thought I would get confirmation this morning with some actual news to share. Apple School Manager will be available on July 14. I’m pasting below the information that most of you have seen before, just to be certain we communicate how to best be ready.

Good afternoon, everyone.
I’m pleased to announce that the upgrade to Apple School Manager will be available on July 14.
In preparation for upgrading from the Apple Deployment Programs to Apple School Manager, there are a few key actions you can take today:
Review Prepare to upgrade to Apple School Manager <https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206590>
Evaluate your existing VPP accounts.
If you have access to the Volume Purchase Program (VPP), but are not enrolled in the Device Enrollment Program, you should sign up now. To expedite enrollment, use your VPP agent account.
If you have other VPP accounts not associated with your Apple Deployment Programs (ADP) organization, follow directions in "Prepare to upgrade to Apple School Manager" to consolidate your VPP purchasers. Taking this action will enable you to easily reset passwords on your existing VPP purchaser accounts. This consolidation can not be done after you upgrade to ASM.
Prepare your infrastructure.
Upgrade your Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. Consult with your MDM provider to install their latest release. Your vendor's latest release supports iOS 9.3, ASM, and Classroom <http://images.apple.com/media/us/education/2016/1e867897_5de3_45db_ac71_d635d1ccb5a5/inspiration/classroom-app/education-classroom-app-cc-us-20160427_r848-9dwc.mov>.
Test and migrate device-based app assignment. Released with iOS 9.0, device-based assignment of apps allows your school to deploy and update apps over the air without requiring Apple IDs on devices.
Evaluate iOS 9.3's new management capabilities. If you are deploying iPad, you will find enhancements including hiding apps and laying out the Home Screen.
Prepare your devices.
Install the latest versions of iOS and macOS. Managed IDs require at least iOS 9.3 (9.3.2 or later recommended) or macOS 10.11.4.
Additionally, if you haven’t already done so, this would be a good time to review the Apple School Manager Help documentation <https://help.apple.com/schoolmanager/>.

So we have no access at all. Not to mention, because of having no access, we can’t enable the shared iPad portion of our MDM for rollout.
