iOS 12 Arrives Today

Good morning,
iOS 12 is scheduled to be available later today!
If you would like to hold off having your iPads upgrade to iOS 12, you should
take advantage of the new “Defer software updates,” restriction that was
introduced last spring as part of iOS 11.3 and can be pushed via any MDM that
supports the new restriction to a supervised device.
This restriction allows you to set a number between 1 and 90 days that a
software update can be deferred. With this set, when the user tries to manually
update the device or if the device tries to reach out itself and update in the
background, it will not become aware of the update’s availability and thus will
not be able to update. The MDM administrator, however can still “push” the
update to the device regardless of this setting.
