i thought it was an upgrade -- so i installed it to have the "latest"... there was no
indication that it was not.

I logged on the the developer site -- 5.2 was in my downloads area. I did not need
a key.

In installed, used the 5.1 key -- and only found out after all that, that running my
WO projects fails.

Yes -- i had to UNINSTALL 5.2, and reinstall 5.1 and all that to get back to work.

Apple should of made it clear the 5.2 i was downloading from the developer downloads
was not an upgrade and my 5.1 key would not work (it WAS accepted at install time).

After all do you need whatever it is that 5.2 has? If you don't then skip a release. If you do its up to you.
