Java 1.4.1 isn't supported with any version of WO. The recent WO

develop or deploy any WO app under Java 1.4.1 until Apple supports it.
However, Java 1.3.1 is solid.

So you mean, it's better to step back to 1.3.1?

Not only better but almost certainly required if you hope to do a fair evaluation of WO, even if you were to update to the current WO version, 5.2.1. If you use Java 1.4.1, you won't know whether problems you might experience are due to incompatibilities between WO and Java 1.4.1.

Of cause, when we start the development, we will use the current version of
WO. Currently we are in the "tool-finding-phase" and therefore the "old"
version should be OK, or not?

A free 30-day trial license of WO 5.2 is available (see http://www.apple.com/webobjects/getting_started.html). That would provide the most accurate appraisal of WO.

But if 30 days might not be sufficient, upgrade to the most recent version that you are licensed to use. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=70037 for a list of patches.

If you have a WO 5.0 license, then you are licensed to use WO 5.1 as well. However, I don't know whether you can download WO 5.1. Anyone?

Art
