I called Apple about this a while ago and they said that 5.1 "might"
install on 10.2.4 but 5.0 was not supported on 10.2.4. You "might" be
able to find the 5.1 installer on the apple download site and try
installing that. I went ahead and paid for a new version of 5.2 just
to get around this problem without having to fight about it.

You should try to install the OS with out the dev-tools, then install
WO and
then update everything via the software-update; just be careful with

as Java 1.4 and other sofware you are not sure you may nead.
