Error when synchronising schema in EO Modeller

I find with great regularity, that if I make some changes to an EO
model, when I go to synchronise I get an error message:
"An unexpected error has occurred which may cause EOModeler to
malfunction. You may want to save copies of your open documents and
quit EOModeler.
Error: java/lang/NullPointerException
Stack Trace:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at
OpenBasePlugIn$OpenBaseSynchronizationFactory.isColumnTypeEquivalentToCo
lumnType(OpenBasePlugIn.java:318) [runs out of message space here]"
The only time synchronising seems to work is immediately after I have
created the database (when it's not really needed).
Any suggestions of what could be causing this? Is it symptomatic of a
corrupted install? Perhaps a problem with OpenBase?
