That was what I was looking for. Had searched through all the target
settings (or so I though), but missed the one that showed up after
changing the launch configuration >  configure from run to debug.

The debugger had been set as the Applescript debugger. Wonder why it
didn't like Java? :)
This should make a HUGE difference to the time I spend tracking down
strange behaviour.

Thanks for the link to the article, Art. Looked to be what I must have
come across ages ago, and forgotten where I had "left it."
