Xcode and WebObjects 5.2

I have been using Xcode to develop our WebObjects 5.2 applications for a little over a week now.

Yes, I know Apple warned me the world would end if I did this.

But it has been working very well. I have one problem: EOModeler does not work so I have to edit our models using BBEdit.

I have noticed the following positive points using Xcode:

1) The rebuild/run time for our application has dropped to about 30 seconds where it was 7-8 minutes with Project Builder.

2) The debugger works for our non-interactive applications where it did not with Project Builder.

3) Project Builder seemed to want to continuously index our source code where Xcode does it once quietly in the background.

If you want to try this, first do so by installing on a test system or test disk to see if you will encounter more problems they we have seen.

Thanks
Jim Niemann
