I have seen SF projects listed as Production Quality that I couldn't
use without several hours in a debugger.... and I have seen SF projects
listed as "alpha" that "just worked" even though I abused the code
horribly.
The best bet is to look at the development mailing list and see how
active the project is and whether the comments are directed more at
"How do I...?" and less about "I tried XXX but there is a bug".
