Hi,

I work for a healthcare company (> 10,000 employees) and we develop web applications using Cold Fusion.

My company used ColdFusion for 1 product. Then we ran screaming into the night never to return. :-)
Our company split into two. My branch used WO for a while and the other went to ASP (!?). Clearly, CF
did not make a favorable impression.

We recently had a demo about Oracle portal where they showed how to build forms quickly.
The VP of Technology pointed out that we need to be able to build small applications (forms to modify, query or insert data).

Having a little bit experience of WO, I think we could use it to deploy application rapidly.

We ended up making a ton of apps like this using WO. Our customer service people loved us. They were
so glad to get away from the csh, sqlplus, etc and use some web applications. I recommend the approach
very highly.

I convinced my boss to let me do it with WO by building 6 different apps like the above while he and the
customer service manager talked about what they wanted. It took about 1/2 hour with DirectToWeb.

I was wondering if:
- There is a 5.2 PC Trial version?
- Know a company / people who could do a demo that demonstrates how a developer can build an application very quickly, reuse components, build web services...

The Apple pre-sales engineers do a wonderful job of this. You could also type WebObjects into google and
contact one of the companies that shows up in the ad zone. I know that Effigent(?) called me like clockwork
every 3 months.

------- WebObjects in Philadelphia. You want a cheesesteak with that? _______________________________________________ webobjects-dev mailing list | email@hidden Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/webobjects-dev Do not post admin requests to the list.
