What to do when WO install discs misplaced?

I am just upgrading my work machine (old style iMac to LCD model) and
went to reinstall WO onto the new one. I have discovered that I can not
find the original Mac discs, and worse still the serial numbers (which
were last seen with the discs).
While I am optimistic that I will find where I have "safely" stored
them, is there any way of getting the number from the old machine to
put it on the new one? I would hate to have to purchase the whole
package again.
