Intersystems Caché

Out of curiousity, has anyone on the list had any experience with using Intersystems' Cachi database system with WebObjects? Or just with Cachi in general? I'm looking at it mostly for the ease of system management and database shadowing where it seems to behave a lot more like a directory system than a database.

I can see some overlap between the functionality in their built-in object modelling capabilities and Enterprise Objects but I'm thinking that the two together could make for some drastic simplification of the development process. Particularly if the projected classes created by Cachi will let me skip all of the fuss and bother about editing contexts and just let me manipulate the classes directly. With the upcoming release of the OS X version it looks like a really nice match for OO development and deployment.

OTOH, using the SQL interfaces via EOModeler has my head hurting about how to go about defining an Enterprise object that contains other objects...

Cheers,

Erik Ableson
