Trying to un-install & re-install

Hi All,

I am having problems with WebObjects 5.2. I am running on MS Windows XP
Professional and have been running Ok up until this point. I tried to
un-install WebObjects because of a OpenBase issue and I can not un-install. If
I try the installer in the remove mode, I get a:

Component Transfer error - dialog

Component: Development Tools
File Group:
File:
Error: Catastrophic Failure

When I try and run the installer in repair mode it seems to complete
correctly, but the tools do not run. The tools seem want to start, but
nothing! Sorry, I can't explain it another way, the tools, ProjectBuilder for
example just doesn't run. It starts, the splash screen shows up, but then it
just sits there. After a short time, the splash screen goes away, then
nothing. I have tried the install in modify mode too, and that seems to
completes OK, but still the tools do not run.

I can't seem to get the product completely removed. I guess what I want is a
clean install. Any help!

Tom
