connect to db timeouts?

  • Subject: connect to db timeouts?

Since upgrading to 5.2, I noticed that if my db server is down, the WO app waits so long before timing out, that the user's browser generally times out first and gives an error message, instead of waiting for the WO app response.

Previously to upgrading, in 5.0, I had code in place that caught this problem and gave the user a reasonable 'the db server seems to be down' error message. But now in 5.2, the user never sees that message, because the browser gives up and times out first.

I'm not sure why this would have changed between 5.0 and 5.2, but... is there any way to control how long EOF is waiting on the db connect before giving up?
