xactisolevel not recognized

Hi list,
I want use PostgreSQl 7.3 in a Mac Os X 10.2.3 system. When I try to connect EOModel with the Postgres database, i get an error "ERROR: Option 'xactisolevel' is not recognized". Can anybody tell me what would most likey be causing this?
