Tomcat/deploy license

  • Subject: Tomcat/deploy license

I recently broke down and bought 5.2.

For testing I was very easily able to get a web app to run under Tomcat. <<This is good and truly painless (just monkey with the web.xml)

So the question is this.....If you deploy your applications on Tomcat ..... Does the deploy license only for Webobjects application server? Can I have 20 tomcat boxes running the same app. Is the Deploy license that comes with WO 5.2 only a testing license or a real deploy license. (this was certainly not the case in earlier versions where you had to buy OSX Server) If I deploy the applications on tomcat, do I need to have a deployment serial number for each machine running tomcat?

There is very poor documentation on this (if it it is buried in a manual on page 313 I am not reading it) I actually read the license agreement and did not completely understand what it is I bought.

I guess it comes down to the defination of "installing WebObjects" . If i am installing my application I built with WebObjects, that is not "WebObjects" that came on the cd, but a byproduct of it. ??? Anyone know the answer?
