While Apple can't seem to tell all developers where WO is going, I just
noticed that they are venturing into letting developers embed EOF in desktop
applications (that is, if you use Cocoa. Still no license for the java
community though...hmm. That sucks considering EOF is written in Java!!!)
I don't remember this being mentioned when WO5.1 came out. How'd it slip
under the radar?? Oh yeah, poor to invisible marketing. I remember asking
for this during the 4.5.1 days.
Notice that they claim it is not ready for production either. Also curious.
Found this at: http://developer.apple.com/mkt/swl/agreements.html
What is the email address for sending feedback to Apple regarding these
setbacks for the WO product? Is Bob Fraser still the Product Manager for WO?
What is Bob's email address? Is that the best way to send feedback about WO
to Apple?
I feel that the bug report feature of Safari should be opened up to all of
Apple's products for monitoring feedback. How else can you best serve the
community using your products, but by letting them tell you what else they'd
like to see or what they are experiencing?

Cocoa EOF Runtime Preview Evaluation License
(No Fee)
Cocoa EOF technology enables developers to create Cocoa applications for Mac
OS X where data is automatically moved between relational databases and user
interface elements. The Cocoa EOF Runtime Preview allows developers to
deploy evaluation versions of Cocoa EOF applications developed using the
preview SDK included with WebObjects 5.1. Note that this preview software is
not supported by Apple, and is not suitable for production usage.
Submit the standard Software Distribution Agreement (SDA) and the Cocoa EOF
Addendum to license the Cocoa EOF Runtime Preview for evaluation purposes
only.
