Greetings, oh wise ones!
We're getting started with WO, and have been using OpenBase to help us
switch over from PHP access for a web-based database to WO 5.2...so far, so
good. But we'd like to switch to using an existing mySQL-based set of
databases on X Server that were being accessed by Excel.
We've downloaded the MySQL-ConnectorJ-3.0.6.jar from the mysql site, and
placed it into the /Library/Java/Extensions path under X 10.2.6 client, per
instructions and some recommedations we've read on-line. EOModeler opens
and sees the data inside the databases properly, but we get the following
error once we recompile/run Project Builder as a WO Application (it compiles
clean, but gives us this on starting the service):
[2003-07-13 17:18:40 EDT] <WorkerThread0> An exception occurred while trying
to open a channel: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to load
JDBCPlugIn 'MySQL-ConnectorJ-3.0.6.jar' for JDBCAdaptor@14509821. Check
your connection dictionary and make sure the specified JDBCPlugIn subclass
is in your classpath.
Other messages follow, but we figure this is the critical one...the others
looked based on this fact that it is not loading the connector correctly.
When building, we see that the /Library/Java/ path is in the generated
classpath...any thoughts on what may be the cause here?
(BTW, if this is a common problem, are there FAQs from the group that we can
peruse?)
TIA!
