I Haven't really solved this one, but it appears that it was a
potential network outage, or more likely, openbase was thrashing and
unable to respond. We've been having more and more issues with
openbase, and have decided to move to Sybase. A different set of
problems, but easier for us to work with.
Thanx to every body who responded to my cry for help.
