Make sure you did not mix up the selectedIndex and selectedObject apsects.

Sorry I don't have a solution for you. All I have is a "me too"
response. I've have the exact same problem. In fact, I have one project
that shows the disabled look and another that actually works showing
the enumerated values. I've compared each as best I can and can find
no difference. I've had a few other situations trying to work through
the tutorials where I can't get things to work as is described in the
manual. For example, getting the custom menu items to show up.  Are you
experiencing the same thing?
