I've always avoided this. The first reason is that the EC uses it
internally for reverting, error recovery etc. and furthermore sometimes
does so incorrectly (e.g. rolls back too many generations if delete fails
to validate). The second reason is that it is not clear to me when the
various undo states are set with respect to takeValues, changes my code
makes, states that may be set at the beginning and end of the R-R loop etc.
This makes it hard to determine what to undo. It made more sense in a
desktop app...
