Just because you cannot use the Direct to Java Client doesn't change
the fact that WebObjects builds pure Swing applications that run on any
platform. Even though you're using Cocoa controls in Interface Builder
those controls are converted into their Swing counterparts by
WebObjects.
Still don't believe it...build a small test application and see for
yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that we CANNOT use the
"Direct to" technology. It is rules-based and we need the ability to
code
our own from scratch.

Actually, the Direct to Java Client application built with WebObjects
is pure Java/Swing and runs natively on both platforms. I have it
running quite well on both systems in our office.

WebObjects has a "Java Client Application" but looks as if uses
various NS
objects and Cocoa. Someone has told me that the project will compile
into
pure Java/Swing, but I find this hard to believe.
Project Builder also has a "Java Swing Application" project type but
it is
PURE swing. I would be happy to use this if I have to (I assume that
I do)
but would really like to be able to use a graphical utility to build
the
windows/dialogs.
Could someone please help a newbie?
Thanks! =)
