Does anyone have anything to report with respect to running WebObjects
5.1 and/or 5.2 with Apple's just-released Java 1.4.1 for Mac OS X?
No WO version has been certified with Java 1.4.1.
Right now I'm still using WebObjects 5.1 and the July 2002 Developer
Tools. I can't upgrade my tools right now (I'm in the middle of a
project) but I'm considering upgrading WebObjects.
The tools upgrade was totally painless for me. Opening a July Dev
Tools project with the Dec Dev Tools' PB merely asked which character
encoding should be used.
So, if I want everything to continue working, is Java 1.4.1 safe, or
should I stay away from it for a while?
I'm going to avoid Java 1.4.1 until Apple makes a statement about
using Java 1.4.1 with WO. Now that Java 1.4.1 for OS X has been
released, I'm hopeful that such a statement will be forthcoming soon.
Aloha,
Art
