Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have always assumed that for OS
X, WO Deployment is just a subset of WO Developer with a different
license key. So if you install Developer, you don't need to install
Deployment. Or put another way, your installing both shouldn't cause
a problem.
This is (mostly) correct. Deployment is a strict subset of Developer.
There is only a single caveat - the default Properties file in
JavaWebObjects.framework is installed with Developer, but not
Deployment. If you are planning on deploying on a development box, you
may wish to "unset" some Properties in deployed apps.
