Ricardo, "target VM version" is for desktop (.app) apps. That setting has
no effect on WebObjects apps (.woa).
A KBase article is coming soon (Tuesday?) explaining how to specify the VM.
I'll post a notice here, unless someone beats me to it. :-)

No, the Java 1.4.1 update is more than a newer JavaVM framework. Do a
'lsbom /Library/Receipts/Java1.4.1.pkg/Contents/Archive.bom' and you'll see.
A full system-wide downgrade isn't possible, but also unnecessary, as
multiple versions can now co-exist.
