I'd being using Sybase and EOF since 1995 with no problem, however I am
still in Version 11.5 for NT. I am doing some tests before changing
everything to V 12 for OSXS.
I use the following connection dictonary:
user: sa
pass: **
URL: jdbc:sybase:Tds:<servername>:<port>/<database>
Driver: com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
(with no pluIn)
I had not been able to create PKs, but I developed years ago a custom
object which does the same, and is a bit more flexible. Also, my schema
is created directly into the DB manager (not with EOModeler), but once
the database is created and running, EOModeler creates to me the model
to use in WO, JavaClient and Cocoa/EOF apps. More over, once I have an
app, via RawSQL I can do everything I can do from an isql command
(create tables, databases, users and so). No problem until now with
that.
Which version of Sybase do you use?
Which WO? which Java?
Suerte!

My company is looking into switching to Sybase (from openbase) and I'm
doing some preliminary testing to see how WO and Sybase get along.
I'm having mixed results at this point in that I can retrieve data,
but I can't add data in, I cant create a table in the database from
EOModeler and others.
Has/Does any one use Sybase on a regular basis, and could you help me
find the following info to start with.
What Drivers do you use?
What connection string / url do you use?
How do I create the EO_PK table in sybase? Or do I have to have this
table?
