mixing traditional cgi and WO

Is it possible to use "traditional" cgi scripts with WebObjects? For
example, can I have html (not WO) buttons, forms, etc. in my Main.wo >
Main.html file and have actions specified as plain old cgi scripts?

What about php? Can I have php code in the Main.html file (assuming I
configure httpd.conf to accept an html file for php)?

I realize that this sort of thing is not desirable, but the question
does come up when trying to preserve old site code while moving into WO.
