I like MySQL, it doesn't feel like a Mac program, but it is free, and it
has tons of support.
It took a bit to get it working with Web O, but once that happened it
works great.
My .02 cents.

I highly recommend OpenBase. It works well, feels like a Macintosh
program should (maybe that doesn't seem a big deal with your background
:-) ) and has an exceptional level of support. They offer a variety of
licensing schemes for developers, including one that doesn't cost
anything until you want to deploy.
