launching an app in direct connect mode

Hi Guys,
Most developers want to know how to launch their apps without direct connect enabled, but i need to know how to actually connect with it enabled.
On a second machine where I have a deployment setup I've now installed a development setup on a seperate hard drive / partition, however the configuration files both point to the scripts directory previously setup on the main drive (C:\) where the deployment installation is, but I don't know if this is the cause of my problem. The problem being that my apps won't launch. Here's the address the app is trying to launch through:
http://localhost/wo-scripts/WebObjects.exe/JandM.woa/-1187
but it just sits there waiting for requests. There is no auto luanch, I have to do that manually too, but that just might be because the address that is trying to launch is failing.
What do I have to do to get this to work, sorry but I've never had to deal with this before, so some help would be appreciated.
Regards Jonathan :^)
