A reusable component can be anything from a single dynamic element (or actually, nothing visible at all!) to a collection of many dynamic elements. To see how Apple implements the dynamic elements that we use to build components, take a look at the JavaWOExtensions and WOComponentElements examples in /Developer/Examples/JavaWebObjects. This might give you a better feel for where WOGenericContainers and WOGenericElements are typically used.
