I'm intending this more as a community service announcement than a
blatant, shameless plug. However, it could be construed as such. :-)
My (non-list posting) colleague Sacha Mallais and I are working on a
book on WO due out mid / late next year.
http://www.apress.com/book/bookDisplay.html?bID=248
This book is aimed at developers who already know WO (have at least
read the on-line docs and gone through the Apple tutorials) and want
to improve their practice and understanding. Don't expect an
Introduction to WOBuilder because there isn't any. Apple and other WO
books have done that already.
It is both a "how to" guide and a "how it works" reference. We're
working to ensure that the book contains a breadth of information that
will make it useful both for the developer who has recently completed
the tutorials and needs to go beyond that level, as well as those who
have been at WO for years. It will be most useful for people
somewhere between these two extremes.
The book comes with a production ready framework of classes that you
can use in your own projects in addition to the usual assortment of
code examples. As an incentive to look at Eclipse / WOLips, all the
source projects will be presented in Eclipse / WOLips format.
The posted Table of Contents will be undergoing some changes.
Suggestions are welcome, but we will make no promises.
Chuck
