When dealing with thousands of records, you could forget about EOF and do a

But then, what is the point of using EOF in the first place?

EOF is perhaps not a speed daemon by everybody's standards, but most "performances" problems are self inflicted. Usually, EOF doesn't have much to do with it.

On the other hand, I'm not quiet sure way I'm persisting in "defending' EOF today. I'm usually bashing it. So back to our regular program:

Use stored procedures and be happy.
